Who We Are
Welcome to East Anchorage Homeschool — a place where homeschool families find connection, support, and great learning opportunities. Here, learning takes root in curiosity and community, helping students and parents grow together every step of the way.
And guess hoo lives in our classroom cottonwood tree? It’s our wise old friend, Professor Owlton Cottonwood, fondly called “Owlie.” He reminds us to stay curious and kind — owl-ways ready to learn and grow. More than a mascot, Owlie represents the heart of East Anchorage Homeschool: thoughtful learning, genuine connection, and the courage to keep soaring higher.
That same wisdom guides our classrooms. We offer in-person group classes twice a week, taught by Approved Vendors who help students learn, grow, and build confidence. Direct Billing is provided for students affiliated with FPCS, Frontier, Raven, and IDEA, with reimbursement available for all other charter or correspondence programs.
We also know that some subjects can be hard for parents to teach — and that’s okay. That’s why we offer classes led by experienced teachers who can step in when you need extra support. You handle what you’re comfortable with, and we’ll help cover the rest.
At East Anchorage Homeschool, you’ll find a flexible, friendly community that’s all about helping each student (and parent!) succeed.
Why Choose Us
Homeschooling doesn’t have to mean doing everything on your own. At East Anchorage Homeschool, we’re here to support your family with trusted teachers, a welcoming community, and flexible options that fit your homeschooling style. Whether you’re looking for help with challenging subjects, more structure in your week, or just a chance for your child to connect with peers — we’re here for you.
What We Offer
Twice-Weekly In-Person Classes
Students attend group classes two days a week in a supportive, small-group setting — learning from Approved Vendors who bring structure and experience to each subject. Our classes are 15 weeks long. Fall semester runs from the 3rd Monday in August—to 1st Thursday in December. (School is closed the week of Thanksgiving). Spring semester runs from the 1st Monday in January—to 4th Thursday in April. (Spring break is the 3rd week in March).
Support for Tough Subjects
Not sure how to teach a few subjects? We’ve got it covered. Our teachers step in where you need support, helping students thrive and parents breathe easier.
Tutoring Services (K–12)
In addition to group classes, we offer personalized tutoring for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Sessions can be remote or in-person and are scheduled to meet each student’s needs — whether that’s once a week, multiple times a week, or a flexible schedule that works best for your family. Tutoring is one-on-one and tailored to each student’s learning style, helping with core subjects, enrichment topics, test prep, homework support, and building strong study habits.
Flexible Homeschool Partnership
Keep control over your homeschool journey while getting help where it counts. You decide what to teach at home, and we’re here to fill in the gaps with high-quality instruction and enrichment.
Community & Connection
Homeschooling doesn’t have to be isolating. Our program brings families together — giving kids social time and giving parents a support network they can count on. Think of us as your homeschooling nest — a safe, welcoming place to land, share ideas, and grow together.
We offer optional monthly resource meetings (the first Monday of every month @ 11am) where you as a parent can dive deeper into tough subjects like: picking the best curriculums for your family, balancing roles as a parent and teacher, managing multiple homeschool students, what to do when it’s tough, and more! Childcare provided!
